Professor Vasily A. ISAKOV, MD, PhD, AGAF, is Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Institute of Nutrition in Moscow, Russia.
Prof. ISAKOV received his MD degree (cum laude) and then had a post-graduate training in internal medicine and gastroenterology at Nikolai Pirogov Russian State Medical University in Moscow. His primary scientific interests are in the pathogenesis and treatment of viral hepatitis, NASH and GI diseases. He is the author and co-author of over 100 peer-reviewed papers as well as numerous abstracts, books, book chapters and monographs. He serves as an editorial board member of the Best Practice & Research Clinical Gastroenterology, Experimental and Clinical Gastroenterology, Voprosy Pitaniya, Voprosy Dietologii. Не was awarded Abrikosov Prize of Russian Academy of Sciences, Nikolai Pirogov Prize of Russian State Medical University and Prize of Moscow government in medical research.
He is a Vice-president of Russian Scientific Society of Gastroenterologists and also a member of American Society for Nutrition (ASN), American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) and Fellow of American Gastroenterological Association (AGA).
