Jidong JIA, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Medicine, at Liver Research Center, Beijing Friendship Hospital, Capital Medical University & National Clinical Research Center for Digestive Diseases, Beijing, China.

As a hepatologist, his clinical expertise covers viral, autoimmune and genetic liver diseases, with a special research interest in liver fibrosis, cirrhosis and portal hypertension. He has published over 200 papers in peer-review journals, including Hepatology, Journal of Hepatology, and Gastroenterology.

He served as President of the International Association for the Study of the Liver (2013-2016), the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver (2009-2010) and the Chinese Society of Hepatology (2006-2012). In addition, he has served as an associated editor of several international journals in the field of hepatology.
