Rafael ESTEBAN

Rafael ESTEBAN earned his medical degree at the Autonoma University of Barcelona and his PhD in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine at the University “Autónoma” de Barcelona, Spain.
He is senior consultant of Hepatology at Hospital Valle Hebron and chair of Internal Medicina at Hospital Quiron. He is currently Professor of Medicine at University Autonoma of Barcelona. He was President of the Spanish Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, and an active member of the EASL, and the AASLD and various professional societies.

He has been involved in many clinical trials on viral hepatitis and has published more than 400 papers in the field of liver disease in peer review journals such as The New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, Journal of Hepatology and numerous contributions to books.
